I am searching for intimate friendship with someone who is passionate about learning and personal growth, values healthy and authentic human connection, and is able to find both humor and meaning in the absurdities and tragedies of life. Oh, and I’ve always found a dash of nerdiness to be an appealing quality. My educational background encompasses several fields, ranging from psychology and philosophy to the physical and biomedical sciences. Beyond that, my interests include yoga, meditation, jogging, existentialism, rational schools of Buddhism and Hinduism, all things India, the neuropsychology of autism, linguistics, pharmacology, cosmology, mathematics and music theory. My true passion revealed itself only several years ago when I encountered an unlikely and ephemeral opportunity to learn the piano. Mastering Chopin’s first nocturne was perhaps the most challenging and euphoric endeavor in which I’ve ever engaged. Playing that hauntingly melancholic composition by candlelight, with huge snowflakes falling just outside a large window, was one of the most beautiful and enchanting moments of my life. While I’ve always found fulfillment in the realm of academia, life has often denied me the same satisfaction from people. So, if you happen to be among the remaining few who haven’t completely given up on meaningful exchanges of thought, then I definitely wouldn’t mind being rescued from such an intellectually vacuous environment.
